One of a kind ceramic plate with claystone from Gaspésie handmade by Cybèle B.Pilon in Montréal, Québec, Canada. The iron naturally present in the clay gives a dark reddish brown hue to this one of a kind piece. The colorful patterns are water carved or hand-painted on raw clay before firing and enhanced with 22k gold. This piece is only partially glazed inside but is sealed with expensive liquid quartz. The inside of the plate is 100% waterproof. It can therefore receive wet food without any problem!
Cybèle B. Pilon's designs are the result of infinite variations on a single theme. She draws her inspiration from her French Canadian material culture (quilts, visual archives, built heritage, popular objects, etc.) and transposes the motifs found on her contemporary ceramics.
