This serie of pieces was inspired by a simple quilt block called “sunburst”. Also known as “Mariner’s Compass”, it is one of the oldest named designs in North America. It can be found on a large number of old quilts on the Atlantic coast. The star that radiate from a circle rather than a square naturally generate floral patterns.
